A mixture of spices that approximates what you might buy in a package. Depending on how spicy you and your family like your dishes, use as little or as much as you want.

This is the chili recipe the gang eats at Purdue Boilermaker football games. I always prep and cook the chili the night before and then reheat the next day. This is a combination of many different tomato-based chili recipes. Good luck and enjoy.

This is a hearty and relatively low-fat chili recipe that is guaranteed to satisfy even the most sadistic spicy food lover...REAL MAN FOOD. (For those with wimpier taste buds, omit the Habanero pepper). Try melting a tablespoon of whipped cream cheese into each dish. Hoo boy! Also, drink beer with lime. The acidity seems to help calm the assault on your taste buds when it gets to be too much.

My husband likes spicy dishes, and this is one of his favorites. He usually takes what's left to work for lunch the next day. We have a 4-year-old son, and this is the only way we can get him to even touch beans!

I make this hearty soup using the ham bone from our Easter spiral ham. I serve it with corn muffins and fresh fruit. It makes a huge pot of soup, so invite some friends or just freeze several portions for later use. Remember to soak the beans the night before you make the soup.

Southern California Cioppino

Submitted by: Becky Wergers
This popular dish originated around Monterey Bay, California. This version, created in San Diego, has a southwest flavor. Serve with large bibs, crab shell crackers, extra bowls for the shells, and finger bowls if you wish. Nice served in large, shallow bowls alongside crusty sourdough bread, a green salad, and chilled white wine. You can vary the seafood according to the catch of the day, yours or your market's.
