About me:
 First and foremost, I am a wife of 8 years and a stay-at-home mom to 3 amazing kids (6 1/2 year old boy, 4 year old girl, and newborn baby girl). We live in a beautiful little town on the Oregon coast. My uncle is a professional chef, and I have worked in restaurants with him off and on over the years and have picked up most of my skills from him. Also, getting married at 19 and not wanting to eat the same things all the time was definitely "trial by fire!" I have thought about following in my uncle's footsteps and becoming a professional chef, but I don't want the pressure. I want food to stay fun for me.

Drumsticks with Peach and Honey

We didn't care much for this recipe. Of course, I didn't have ginger or the lemon (hubby doesn't like them anyway), so maybe that's the problem. Also, the garlic at that heat got burnt. Still, it had a wierd combo of flavors for our liking. Hubby and the kids wouldn't even touch the peaches because they said the sauce made them taste wierd. Also, I found eating drumsticks through such a sticky sauce messy and tedious. I really wanted to like this, but didn't really. Unfortunately, I won't be trying it again.

Brigid's Blackberry Pie

This was pretty good. The filling is delicious, but a little too sweet for my taste. And I really think the pre-made crust detracts from the taste. I will try making this again sometime with a homemad crust and scaling back the sugar in the filling. Otherwise though, a good recipe.
