Butter Fried Zucchini

Reviewed on May 4, 2008 by JENNSCOOKIN
This is one of our family's favorite "appetizers". It's definitely a southern thing, even though we live in California (family from Texas and North Carolina though). This is basically the same recipe that I grew up with, except that we just dip the zucchini in milk, not eggs, and then dip in the flour, sprinkle with salt and fry em up! These never, ever make it to the table because we eat them to fast :)

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed on Apr. 12, 2008 by JENNSCOOKIN
I wanted to make my dad a batch of scones for his birthday. I didn't have a lot of time to research a recipe and just assumed that since this recipe had 800+ 5 star reviews, I could trust it. Not only was it a fabulous recipe, but it was so.... easy. I doubled the recipe and made one regular batch and one cranberry-orange batch. I just added some orange zest and about a cup of craisins. Fabulous!! This recipe is going into the family file right now!!!

Creamy Split Pea Soup

Reviewed on Jan. 4, 2008 by JENNSCOOKIN
This recipe is a 5+ star recipe. My brother got the recipe here from allrecipes.com and gave it to me. I love this soup, highly addictive. I made changes to the recipe, but only for personal preference. I omitted the diced ham as I do not like ham and omitted the heavy whipping cream to keep the recipe Weight Watcher friendly. I did leave in the bacon, just reducing it to 3 slices for the flavor.
