Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This came out perfect! The only changes I made were that I halved it and I used margerine and brown rice bread to make it gluten/casien free. Simple but delicious! :)

Best Ever Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This recipe is very good. I added two cloves of fresh minced garlic to add some spice and flavor. This is my new "go to" spinach/artichoke dip. My sister says it tastes too "restauranty" and not homemade.

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Very Rich! I made this for a coworkers birthday and I work with a bunch of chocoholics and they loved it! No one finished their slice, so I recommend thin slices of this cake. I followed the directions to a T with the exception that I doubled the amount of instant coffee and didn't add Kahlua. I didn't double the crust and it was fine as is. I did let the cake cool in the oven with the door open for 45 minutes and I only had one very small insignificant crack- which is irrelevant with the whipped cream topping. This cheesecake was too rich for me, but I still recommend this to chocolate lovers.

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Bland and boring- I know it seems crazy considering the bacon and the jalapeƱos, but it was. I took the suggestions and minced up the jalapeƱos and added some cheddar cheese to the mix. That part was really tasty, I added a dash of garlic powder to that too. I baked the chicken wrapped in 2 strips of bacon at 350' for 35 minutes on a cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet to keep the bacon from getting soggy, and the chicken came out moist, but my husband and I both took a few bites and abandoned it. It was lacking in flavor and despite our best efforts the bacon didn't seemed cooked thoroughly on the bottom. I won't even attempt to make this again.

Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
I made these last night. I was so disappointed because they totally spread when they cooked and turned out all flat and fat. They were a little hard for me to shape too. But they did taste really good!

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
These are insanely delicious!! This was the first time I've made scones and they taste better than the ones at Starbucks! I added 2 palmfuls of dried cranberries and the zest of 1/2 a lemon.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

This turned out good. I scaled it down to one serving and it was perfect. I feel like it needs a little something tough.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I made this recipe exactly as written. As it did for two other commenters, my loaf was very dark for about an inch in on the bottom and edges; I would not have served it to company. Taste was okay, perhaps a bit sweet. My oven is 'right on' and I make many breads and cakes. I think the overbrowning might have been due to a high sugar content of very ripe bananas. I will try again because of all the reviews, but I'll bake on the low side of 350 degrees next time.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
These are so freakin good! The only changes I made were that I used some dulce de leche I made for the caramel and I omitted the nuts. Mine werent all nice and thick like the pics though, but still super tasty!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I will come back and re-rate this after I've made the recipe as written, since I goofed and added the 1/3 c. of brown sugar (from the topping) to the banana mixture. Sooo, they were a tiny bit too sweet, but still excellant and moist. They were the first item to go on the church snack table this morning and people said "yummy" and "moist". Be sure to read the directions through, unlike me, and mark where the topping ingredients begin.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I am writing this review while the meatloaf bakes. I wish I had read the reviews before I put it in the pan. The brown sugar smells like it is burning, Hopefully it won't taste like burn't brown sugar. :( I put one star because I'm afraid I will be disappointed.

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This is a great soup. I'd give it 5 stars, but I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used 4 cups chicken broth and 2 cups vegetable broth for the liquid. I didn't have cardamom so substituted curry powder, which, with the garam masala, gave it a very Indian flavor and aroma. Makes a hearty, satisfying meal over rice, and would also be good with couscous. Best of all, it's really easy. Just chop some vegies and open some cans. Let it simmer while you take the dog for a walk, and when you get home, make some rice and dinner's ready.
